3rd Down - Mike Singletary

Mike Singletary should be on his way out.

He has consistently proved to be a far reach from being a head coach. A head coach needs to be level headed. A head coach needs to be able to admit his mistakes. A head coach needs to be the face of the organization. The head coach needs to be well versed in all forms of football. Unfortunately, Mike Singletary has none of these qualities.

Mike Singletary has blown up on reporters, players and even other coaches. Sure, many great coaches have been angry during interviews and have blown up from time to time. Most of those coaches are not in the NFL any more. Remember Denis Green. Mike Singletary has lost it so many times that it is almost an embarrassment for the 49ers. Singletary has never admitted his mistakes rather blamed the quarterback or the offensive coordinator. I feel bad for the 49ers because they were once the most respected teams in the league. Now, they are a big joke with this man running the show. Finally, I am quite positive that he is so over his head when it comes to the knowledge of football that he is barely treading water at this point. This is apparent when he is interviewed or when he is on the field.

49ers, you know what needs to happen. Just cut him loose. Your organization will be much more respected.

My Record so far

I just wanted to brag for a moment and say that I have a record of 20 - 12 in calling games so far for week two and three.

Game of the Week: Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals

Glendale, Arizona was buzzing. This time around it wasn't a sea of Black and Silver. It was Cardinals fans out and about. Sure there was some salt and pepper in the crowd but for the Cardinals this is looking like a franchise that found it's fan base.

From start to finish this game was in my opinion the best game of the week. Running back LaRod Stephens-Howling #36 returned the opening kick-off for 102 yards. This looked like it maybe a blow out. Oakland with the new starting quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, answered back. Gradkowski moved the ball with precision and nailed Zack Miller in the end zone. Gradkowski ended the day 17 of 34 for 255 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Then both teams found it hard to move the ball. Janikowski kicked a 22 and a 54 yard field goal. Meanwhile, Feely kicked a 42 yard field goal. 13 - 10 end of the first quarter. Good Game so far...right?

In the second quarter, Dereck Anderson found Steve Breaston in the end zone. Derek Anderson went 12 - 26 for 122 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Raiders sent Darren McFadden into the endzone. He ended the day with 25 rushes for 105 yards and one touchdown.

In the third quarter, Derek Anderson found Fitzgerald in the end zone to go up on the Raiders by 4.

The fourth quarter Janikowski kicked a 23 yard field goal.

End of the game was 23 -24 Cardinals. Sounds like an exciting game right. Not even. This game was riddled with bad plays, penalties, poor decision making and just bad calls. Janikowski who is maybe one of the greatest kickers of all time missed 3 kicks (32, 41, 58). All of which all well within his range. Oakland had 11 penalties for 123 yards while the Cardinals had 7 for 104 yards. The Raiders looked terrible. Sending out the wrong players at for the wrong calls. The Raiders and the Cardinals play calling was poor to say the least. Come on Derek Anderson had only 122 yards. This was a sloppy game.

Janikowski had several chances to win the game but then again so did everyone on both teams. This was definitely not Janikowski's issue this was a team issue and the Raiders should of had another win, several different ways.

In the end, both teams need to make some major improvements.

Week 3 Preview

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS @ KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
This could go either way. I feel as if both of these teams are very unpredictable and very inconsistent. Sure, the K.C. Chiefs are 2-0 but last week Cassel was discouraging to say the least. The 49er's played some good ball against the New Orleans Saints last week but the week before they were all over the place. I would look for this to be 100% rushing game. Between Gore and Charles, I would expect a 300+ rushing game. I really don't know what to expect. I would guess that this game will go to home field advantage because playing in K.C. is a difficult task...Damn Chefs.

San Francisco 22, Kansas City 24

Update:
Who knows? Cassel looked great throwing for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Between Charles and Jones they rushed for 192 yards. On defense, Brandon Flowers is making a name for himself. This team is looking great. Are they the real deal? I guess we will have to wait and see.

San Francisco 10, Kansas City 31

DETROIT LIONS @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Well in week one, the Lions were robbed. In week two, the Lions were taken advantage of. In week 3, the Lions will be up against a team that desperately needs a win. Favre needs a victory to keep himself in this league. My prediction is this...Lions come out and go up on the Vikings by 14 at the half. Favre gets benched due to too many interceptions and Jackson takes over the reigns. Jackson has a 300 yard second half to beat the Lions by a point.

Detroit 21, Minnesota 22

Update:
Minnesota was not about to let the Lions beat them. I think there is still a big question mark over Brett Favre's head. With him struggling, Minnesota went back to the basics named Adrian Peterson. AP rushed for 160 yards. AP is looking like himself now that Brett can't seem to throw the ball to his own team. Most notably, the Vikings defense was truly impenetrable. They shut the Lions down in the second half.

Detroit 10, Minnesota 24

BUFFALO BILLS @ NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Well this is not going to be a pretty game. The Bills are dreadful. This is the worst match up of the week. Welker, Moss and Fred Taylor will have exceptional days.

Buffalo 10, Patriots 28

Update:
Well the Buffalo Bills came to play today. I thought New England defense would be able to stop them more effectively. Welker was non resistant throughout this game. Fred Taylor left the game with a toe injury.

Buffalo 30, New England 38

ATLANTA FALCONS @ NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
This is the runner up game of the week. Saints are strong but truly showed their weaknesses last week against the 49ers. Matt Ryan is looking to etch is name into the Hall of Fame. Look for Matt Ryan to move the ball around and not continue with his trend of just hitting Rodney White. I would bet to say that Tony Gonzalaz has a 70+ yard day. I am going out on a limb with this and say that the Falcons will beat the Saints at home.

Falcons 28, New Orleans 24

Update:
I thought the Falcons would pull this out. Tony G. had a big day and Matt Ryan was playing above calibur.

Atlanta 27. New Orleans 24 (OT)

TENNESSEE TITANS @ NEW YORK GIANTS
Titans and Giants are both struggling this year. The Titans need to ensure that they are not turning the ball over. I know that Coach Fisher said that Young was the starter this week but for this game. I would use Kerry Collins. Here is the deal, the New York Giants are an aggressive passing team. The Giants will be looking to put up a lot of points quick and this calls for the Titans to do the same. Young is not that kind of quarterback. Young is a finesse player who can make plays. If Collins were the starter I would say that the Titans may have a chance. With Young as the starter, I predict that there will be interceptions and lots of them.

Tennessee 14, Giants 31

Update:
Well, obviously I do not know what I am talkign about. The Giants looked awful in this game. Young was quite impressive and regained his title as the starter this week.

Tennessee 29, New York 10

CLEVELAND BROWNS @ BALTIMORE RAVENS
Hmmm. I really don't know what to say except that the Browns will not be able to do anything against this defense. I would expect to see a lot from the Ravens struggling offense. With the money that has been laid down to create this offense, the Ravens should be invincible. I would look to Ray Rice and Derek Mason to have a big day.

Cleveland 3, Baltimore 17

Update:
I hit the nail on the head with this one. Baltimore smoked Cleveland. However, instead of Mason having an exceptional day, it was Anquan Boldin. He had 142 yards and three touchdowns. Wow. I bet Arizona is kicking themselves now. Cleveland did surprise me however. They were able to execute some great plays against the Ravens strong defense.

Cleveland 17, Baltimore 24

DALLAS COWBOYS @ HOUSTON TEXANS
Now this is must see T.V. The struggling Cowboys vs. the give up 400 passing yards a game Texans. Ok. I am betting on Romo to have a huge day throwing for 500+ yards. Not because Romo is good but because the Texans pass defense is awful. The Texans want this win bad and the Cowboys need this win bad.

Dallas 33, Houston 35

Update:
Dallas performed really well on Sunday. Romo looked great but so does every quarterback against this defense. Dallas really needs to find themselves or this season is lost. Texas have got to get better on their pass defense this is pathetic. The Texans opponents have thrown for 1143 yards in three games. This is sad. Also, the Texans have trouble protecting the quarterback Schaub has been sacked 9 times in the last two games.

Dallas 27, Houston 13

PITTSBURGH STEELERS @ TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Steelers will dominate this game not only defensively but offensively too. They have a proven experienced leader in Charlie Batch and I am betting on the fact that Batch proves that he could be the leader of this football team. Tampa Bay has a very big problem at Quarterback. Look to see Josh Freeman dump passes to Ernest Graham and Kevin Winslow.

Pittsburgh 28, Tampa Bay 14

Update:
Well, my prediction was pretty accurate. Charlie Batch stood out as the man who took charge he only threw for 185 yards but had three touchdowns on the day. He also had two interception. Josh Freeman looked pretty good but did exactly what I thought he would do. Freeman was pulled because he couldn't get into the end zone and back up Josh Johnson came in who eventually scored.

Pittsburgh 38, Tampa Bay 13

CINCINNATI BENGALS @ CAROLINA PANTHERS
This is not a good match up. The Bengals offense is entirely too strong for the Panthers. Look to Ochocinco, and T.O. to have a huge day.

Cincinnati 22, Carolina 9

Update:
Nothing to really report. The Bengals won. This team needs to step it up if they want to be a playoff team. The Panthers are weak and this should of been a much easier game for them.

Cincinnati 20, Carolina 7

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
This should be the game of the week, but its not. The Eagles have determined that Vick will be the starter. I would expect that the Jaguars rush for majority of the game. There is a big question mark next to their quarterback situation. Jacksonville defense is awful to say the least and the Eagles are not that much better. I would look to Vick and Eagles to make a mockery out of this match up.

Philadelphia 33, Jacksonville 17

Update:
I thought that Jacksonville would of shown up for this game but that didn't happen. Vick proved his dominance and has proven himself as the leader of this football team. I am glad Reid came to the realization that Kolb wasn't about to run this offense as effectively as Vick.

Philadelphia 28, Jacksonville 3

WASHINGTON REDSKINS @ ST. LOUIS RAMS
This is another awful game. I think each and every week the Redskins continue to improve, even with their loss to the Texans last week. The play calling for the Redskins is maybe the worst that I have seen. I know that Shananhan likes to run the ball but with such a talented quarterback, throw into the end zone. I would bet to say that this is a high scoring game.

Washington 38, St. Louis 22

Update:
Who am I to question one of the greatest coaches of all time. But come on...McNabb should be throwing into the end zone. This is absolutely pathetic that he isn't being used to his ablity.

Washington 30, St. Louis 16

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS @ DENVER BRONCOS
This could be a fun match up. Playing in Denver is never an easy task. This game really depends on the health of the Broncos. If Champ Bailey is ready to play, I would guess that the Colts will struggle against the Broncos at home.

Indianapolis 22, Denver 21

Update:
Sorry, I thought Denver would of scored more at home. Just goes to show you that this coach was the worst idea that Denver has had.

Indianapolis 27, Denver 13

OAKLAND RAIDERS @ ARIZONA CARDINALS
I am calling this the game of the week. I know...its crazy. I think this will be the most exciting game to watch. The Raiders did the right thing by putting Gradkowski in. This is going to be hard nose football at its best. Both teams will be running the ball and throwing for short yardage. Fitzgerald is amazing but matched up with Asomugha this is maybe the best match up all week.

Raiders 22, Arizona 21

Update:
I will post a blog about the Game of the Week. Many people questioned me as to why I would pick this game as the game of the week and if you watched you know.

Raiders 23, Arizona 24

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
I feel bad for the Seattle Seahawks. This years schedule couldn't be worse for this team. If you all remember that Seattle used to be in the AFC west. Playing against old division rivals is always difficult. I would look to Phillip Rivers to have an amazing day against the struggling Seahawks defense. This should be a fairly decent match up but I will bet on the Chargers to pull this one out.

San Diego 24, Seattle 21

Update:
Seattle came to play and they did well. San Diego just said goodbye to their playoff hopes.

San Diego 20, Seattle 27

NEW YORK JETS @ MIAMI DOLPHINS
I will probably eat my words as to why the Raiders vs. the Cardinals is the game of the week. This game is BIG!!! I will be front row for this game. The Jets look to continue their dominance in the division while the Dolphins look to continue with their victories. Dolphins will continue to mix it up between Henne and White. Shotguns and Wildcats. I believe that this combination is a mixture that the Jets will not be able to fight off. The Dolphins defense was truly impressive against the Vikings last week and I would expect them to come out stronger this week.

New York 28, Miami 31

Update:
Well, the Jets are the real deal. Braylon Edwards had a big game and so did Tomlinson. I figured this would of been more ground and pound but both teams did very well.

New York 31, Miami 23

GREEN BAY PACKERS @ CHICAGO BEARS
Ok...maybe this should be the game of the week, but it's not. The Packers. The Bears. I am at a loss for words. I think Green Bay is too strong for the Bears. I think that both of these unbeaten teams will play the best football that we have seen all year. Woodson has 5 picks on the Bears and I would bet to say that he will get another this week. The rushing factor...I think that if the Packers rack up the points on the Bears early the game is over. But if the Bears keep it close, I would look for a Bears victory. Matt Forte may have another 100 yard game.

Green Bay 32, Chicago 33

Update:
Green Bay choked. Chicago took this ball game. In my opinion, the Packers played a good game. Sure, it was a little sloppy with all the penalties but for the most part the Pack played a good game. Nothing by Woodson. Nothing by Forte. I scored this game way too high.

Green Bay 17, Chicago 20

My record: 10 - 6 for the week

Quarterback Swap

I would have to say that every year in the NFL is more and more interesting. Each year, I sit back and say "Wow, this is the greatest NFL year yet." Personally, I love watching teams come out of nowhere and dominate. I love watching teams like the Bears and Chiefs do well. However, what I do not like seeing is the amount of starting quarterbacks losing their jobs to the second stringer. Let's take a look at the league and see how many of these teams are doing just that.

Raiders - Jason Campbell was the guy but now it's Bruce Gradkowski.

Titans - Vince Young benched for his turnover hay day for Kerry Collins. Young isn't losing his seat just yet. But we do have the police on standby.

Steelers - Dennis Dixon was the starter and now Chuck Batch...wow he is still in the league.

Eagles - Kevin Kolb was the guy...now Mike Vick is the guy.

Browns - Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace. Ok. Sorry but you guys need to realize that neither of these two are even close to a NFL Quarterback. Come on already. I hear Dante Culpepper is playing ball in Canada. Jeff George still wants to play. Get someone with some sort of talent please.

Now these are the for sures...but what about the potentials?

Vikings - Favre looks awful and old. Where is Mr. T?

Cowboys - At some point, Mr. Jones needs to wake up and bench Romo. Romo is not nearly the quarterback the boys deserve.

Chiefs - Cassel. Your performance last week was disgraceful. I look forward to the day they bench you.

Ravens - Joe Flacco. I do not know if this was Flacco or the receivers but they were not connecting.

Dolphins - Chad Henne. Naw. Henne keep doing your thing...you look ok.

Cheers to a great year so far...lets keep it coming.

The Viick Factor, part 2

It is official. Andy Reid stated before the Lions game that "if he is ready to go he (Kolb) will start." Reid was talking about Kevin Kolb starting next week. Kolb is a good quarterback. He has proven himself in a few occasions when McNabb went down. However, he has never been a proven starting quarterback. There is a difference here. Proving yourself as a stand in for the starting quarterback and proving yourself as the starting quarterback is two completely different things.

A stand in starting quarterback.
A stand in starting quarterback usually has the team rallying behind you to help you get the job done. All team realize that when the starting quarterback is down that all members of the team need to step up to increase their level of play.

A starting quarterback.
A starting quarterback has to rally the team to ensure that the team is playing to optimum levels. The team seeks a leader and if you do not have the leadership skills they will respond, as so.

In the first game of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles looked like a bunch of confused clowns out of the football field. Kolb looked as if he was clown leader; confused as well. The point of the matter, is that the Philadelphia Eagles are a quality football team that could potentially dominate the league. I am not quite sure about the leadership of the team or better yet the direction of the team. I am under the impression that Kolb is to be the future of the team. However, it is rare that a team has enough talent to be considered a Superbowl team at the beginning of the year. If the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to build a dynasty for years to come maybe Kolb is the answer. Maybe Kolb will be able to develop into a proven leader. At this point, I refuse to believe that Kolb is that guy. And, he is definitely not the guy to win the Superbowl this year.

Micheal Vick has the leadership and the know how to produce wins. He has the drive and the ability of make quality decisions under pressure. He has the speed and the ability to get out of the pocket and make plays. This is a quality that is becoming a huge necessity in the NFL. Two things come to mind that make me second guess Micheal Vick as the leader of this team. One, he has been very inaccurate in passing. Two, he makes poor off field decisions.

The Eagles need to look towards winning. Winning is what the NFL is about. Losing for the sake of the development of a quarterback is not only a bad idea but poor sportsmanship. I believe that Vick is the answer to the Superbowl. I think that he could lead this team to a higher ground than Kolb can at this point.

After watching the Eagles game this weekend, I have to say that if Vick isn't the starting quarterback for the Eagles then he needs to be the starting quarterback somewhere. Give him up because he is maybe the most exciting quarterback in the NFL.

You tell me...What do you think? Should the Eagles trade him, should they start him or should they use him as an option?

Week 2 Preview

Week Two Preview

NEW YORK GIANTS @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
The battle of the Manning Brothers. This should be a no brainer however, the Colts Week 1 outing is leaving some doubts. Year after year, the Colts consistently have concerns at stopping the run. The Texans looked like a Superbowl team last week playing the Colts. RB Ahmad Bradshaw in the NYG backfield, could cause some serious damage to the Colts. The Giants had several mental miscues in Week 1. The Giants defense struggled against the passing attack of Carolina and this week they are facing one of the most accurate passers of all time.

Game Plan:
NYG
Offense: Rush, Rush, Rush. Knowing that the Colt's have concerns with the rushing attack expose it and continue to send it up the middle. Even if, the Colt's offense scores do not attempt to the passing attack continue to send it up the middle and the Giants will win this game.
Defense: Must be able to acquire some turn overs. If the Giants are able to make Payton Manning start second guessing his passing they will be forced to rush.

Colts:
Offensive: Do what you do best and throw the ball. Rack up the points and make the Giants throw the ball to catch up.
Defense: Needs to stop the run.

The winner?
I am going out on a limb on this one and say that the NYG win this one. I look at Ahmad Bradshaw and Hakeem Hicks to have a huge games.

NY Giants 31, Indianapolis 28

Update:
So much for going out on a limb. Payton stole the show. I was certain that this would be a much better game.

NY Giant 14, Indianapolis 38

HOUSTON TEXANS @ WASHINGTON REDSKINS
This is one of those games to see if the week before was just a fluke. The Texans looked very strong last week against the Colts whereas the Redskins made some errors but still managed to beat the struggling Cowboys.

Game Plan:
Texans
Offense: 50/50 blend of rushing and passing. Get the ball into Adrian Fosters hands and produce good yardage through a consistent rushing attack but keep them off guard with several deep passes opening up lanes for Foster to run in.
Defense: Needs to step it up. The Texans defense was awful last week and they are up against a great competitor in Donovan McNabb.

Redskins
Offense: The offense needs to produce. Last week they had several miscues and continued to fail as an offensive powerhouse. With the skill set of McNabb, Portis and Moss look for these guys to get back to what they do best.
Defense: Must be able to stop the run. If they can stop Foster. The Texans will be a one week team.

Houston 13, Washington 28

Update:

Houston really played well. Washington should of won this game. I blame the coaching staff.

Houston 30, Washington 27

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS @ SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
Even through, San Diego's performance on MNF was sub par to say the least, look for them to bounce back this week. The Chargers went into Arrowhead stadium which is a difficult thing to do. The Chiefs fans are one of the greatest in the NFL and they can make Phillip Rivers cry, not like that's hard to do. Jacksonville show little if any real improvement from last year. Their non existing passing game is a critical flaw in Jacksonville. San Diego has this one wrapped up at home.

Game Plan:
Jaguars
Offense: Marcus Jones Drew is a shining star in this offense. So use him. Push the ball down their throats so that you run off the clock and hold onto the ball.
Defense: Too many weapons to really predict what Jacksonville should do. They need to stay focused and stop the run. Make Phillip Rivers throw the ball. His inconsistencies may lead to turnovers.

Chargers
Offense: The Chargers have a lot of weapons on this team so use them. Spread the ball around and make great plays.
Defense: Stop Marcus Jones Drew. If they stop him the game is over.

Jacksonville 9, San Diego 31

Update:
I pretty much hit this one on the head. Jacksonville didn't stand a chance.

Jacksonville 13, San Diego 38

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS @ NEW YORK JETS
This is the game of the week. I am guessing this will be the most watched Football game this weekend. Look for the Jets to come out swinging. This game has so many weapons on each team that it will be difficult not to watch. Look for a slow week by Randy Moss but a huge weekend for Wes Welker. Look for Revis and the Jets backfield to make some huge plays that maybe the turning point for the Jets.

Game Plan:
Patriots
Offense: Score, Score, Score. Use Fred Taylor as much as you normally do and Patriots will be slicing and dicing this defense.
Defense: Blitz Sanchez as much as possible. Sanchez has proven to be a decent quarterback and if you allow him time in the back field he will make some plays. Push on him and he will make some poor decisions.

Jets
Offense: Slow the game down. The Patriots offense will continue to push the ball down feild. Make the Patriots defense stay out on the field as much as possible. Rush and short passing will lead to a tired over worked defense.
Defense: The secondary will need to stick on Moss and Welker making the Patriots use some of their other options.

New England 21, NY Jets 24 (OT)

Update:
I expected this to be a much closer game. The Jets defense played well and really controlled the ball game.

New England 14, NY Jets 28

ST. LOUIS RAMS @ OAKLAND RAIDERS
Wow. Talk about the toilet bowl. Coach Cable needs to win this game. Look for the Raiders to bounce back this week. Jason Campbell took on the persona of so many Quarterbacks before him with the dear in headlights look. If this continues I would look to Bruce Gradkowski to step up and begin as the new starting Quarterback of the Oakland Raiders.

Game Plan:
Rams
Offense: Steven Jackson. By watching tapes this week, the Rams know that the Raiders rushing defense is pathetic.
Defense: Must be able to stop the rushing attack of Darren McFadden. He hasn't proved that he is a great RB in this league yet but by his numbers last week he maybe on track to prove himself.

Raiders
Offense: The WR need to make some big plays. Someone needs to step up as the main receiver. When TE Zach Miller is your biggest play maker there is a problem.
Defense: Needs to stop the rushing attack. Look to Rolondo McClain to make some big plays this weekend.

Oakland 28, St. Louis 7

Update:
I expected Oakland to pull Campbell a little earlier and if they did so I think this game would of been over by half time.

Oakland 16, St. Louis 14

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS @ DENVER BRONCOS
I expect this to be a very good game. Both teams are marginal. They both have issues on both sides of the ball. This is my sleeper pick game of the week. Look to both the Broncos and the Seahawks to push to win this game.

Game Plan:
Seahawks
Offense: Focus on their strengths and pass the football.
Defense: Blitz Orton and attempt to keep the ball on the ground.

Broncos
Offense: Short passing game will win this one for the Broncos. Look to Eddie Royal for small plays.
Defense: Secondary needs to be on their toes.

Seattle 20, Denver 24

Update:

I expected a little more out of the Seahawks.
Seattle 14, Denver 31

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ CAROLINA PANTHERS
The Buc's shouldn't have an issue with this game. The Panthers had some big concerns in Week one and look for them to continue throughout the season.

Game Plan:
Buccaneers
Offense: The Buc's need to stick to their short passing game and rushing game but should be able to dice up this defense pretty easily.
Defense: The Buc's defense needs to be able to stop the run.

Panthers
Offense: Stick to a strong rushing program. With Matt Moore out the Panthers will have to rely on DeAngelo Williams and Johnathan Steward
Defense: Watch out for Mike Williams and Kevin Williams. These two would be my fantasy picks this week for Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay 22, Carolina 13

Update:

Pretty much what I expected.
Tampa Bay 20, Carolina 7

PITTSBURGH STEELERS @ TENNESSEE TITANS

This game is the runner up for the game of the week. Steelers Defense vs. The Titans aggressive offense. Sure, Week 1 was a joke because the Titans played the hopeless Raiders but it is apparent that the Titans are out for blood this season. I would look at both Chris Johnson and Vince Young to have big rushing yardage this week.

Game Plan:
Steelers
Offense: Denis Dixon? Focus on the rushing game.
Defense: Stop the run.

Titans
Offense: Mix it up. Wild Cat this offense. Create several plays which focuses on Vince Youngs speed and Steelers Defense will be left in shambles.
Defense: Blitz and stop the rushing game.

Pittsburgh 9, Tennessee 24

Update:

I didn't foresee this game at all. With 7 turnovers you just can't produce wins. I expected to see Young coming out firing. That was not the case. Young had 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Wow. Collins replaced him. Collins and Young make for a good combination of quarterbacks..btw. (Call the police their might be a suicide watch out). Dixon went down and an old familiar face came in...Chuck Batch. Charlie Batch should be the guy running the show up there. He is 5 times the quarterback Dixon wants to be. Anyways...I failed miserably on predicting this game.

Pittsburgh 19, Tennessee 11

BUFFALO BILLS @ GREEN BAY PACKERS
Wow. You couldn't pay me to watch this game. The Packers will destroy the Bills. The Bills have no chance at winning this game. Look to Rogers to have a huge game with Ryan Grant out.

Game Plan:
Bills
Offense: Trent Edwards needs to prove that he is worthy of his position. He needs to make some big plays against this defense to even make this game competitive.
Defense: Make Rogers go for short yardage by doubling up on Jennings.

Packers
Offense: Use this week to try out RB Brandon Jackson. See what he is able to do against an NFL Defense.
Defense: Shut down the rush and make Edwards work for it. He will make some big errors causing in a large amounts of turnovers.

Buffalo 3, Green Bay 31

Update:

I under estimated Buffalo. I didn't think they could of scored a touch down against this team.

Buffalo 7, Green Bay 34

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES @ DETROIT LIONS
The Eagles will dominate this game. Look to Micheal Vick to lead the Eagles to a victory. The Lions Defense will not be able to stop the weapons on this team. The Lions offense could prove challenging against the Eagles defense. Expect a high scoring game.

Game Plan:
Eagles
Offense: Micheal Vick, DeSean Jackson, and LeSean McCoy will all have the opportunity to produce 100 yard games. Vick's inconsistencies remain in the passing game but I think he is out to prove that he is ready to be the starter and will show it this weekend.
Defense: Stop the deep threat. Send an on slot of blitzes and make sure you have someone covering Calvin Johnson. With Matthew Stafford out, it looks as if Shawn Hill will replace him. Blitzing Hill will cause turnovers but watch out for his speed.

Lions
Offense: Hill will need to stay in the pocket to make plays however, if he is blitzed he will need to use his speed to get out and take as many yards as he can. Look for Shawn Hill to have a great day rushing but awful numbers passing.
Defense: Too many weapons to stop this offense. I wouldn't send very many blitzes against Vick. He is too unpredictable.

Philadelphia 31, Detroit 12

Update:

Detroit was hungry. They looked like a quality football team. But Vick and Co. was too much.

Philadelphia 35, Detroit 32

CHICAGO BEARS @ DALLAS COWBOYS
This will be another great game. Look for the Cowboys to want to crush the Bears after their loss last week. However, the Bears are a worthy opponent. Look for Matt Forte to have quite a bit of touches this week. Dallas's Defense will attempt to pressure Jay Cutler so that he makes some mistakes.

Game Plan
Bears
Offense: Make short passing plays and use both RB and the Bears will take this game.
Defense: Blitz Romo. Make him get out of the pocket.

Cowboys
Offense: Use Dez Bryant and Jason Witten to make majority of the plays. Short pass then long pass.
Defense: Blitz Cutler and make him throw the ball.

Chicago 24, Dallas 23

Update:

This should of been the game of the week. Wow. Great game by both teams...except for you Romo. Dallas...the rest of the league is benching their quarterback for lousy play you continue to move forward with yours. Hmmm...you might win this season if you get a clue.

Chicago 27, Dallas 20

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS @ CLEVELAND BROWNS
Look for the Chiefs to continue with another victory over the Browns. The Browns have very little to be excited about and are probably quite intimidated by the Chiefs after the last MNF game. Look for Jamaal Charles to have another huge game and I would expect to see Thomas Jones proving his self worth this week. For the fantasy players, this is not a good week to start Matt Cassel.

Game Plan
Chiefs
Offense: Use your offensive powerhouses in the back field. Charles and Jones together can dominate the Browns.
Defense: Make Jake Delhomme work for his passing gains by sending blitzes and covering his talented receivers.

Browns
Offense: The best chance at beating the Chiefs is to throw deep and hope for some big plays.
Defense: Stop Cassel from utilizing his receiving corp. Strong up front and not let Charles make any big plays.

Kansas City 23, Cleveland 14

Update:

I really didn't expect the Chiefs to look as bad as they did. Cassel didn't look so great in this game.

Kansas City 16, Cleveland 14

BALTIMORE RAVENS @ CINCINNATI BENGALS
This could potentially be a great game. It depends on who shows up. T.O. and 85 will need to be present in order for this game to go to the Bengals. Look for Joe Flacco and Carson Palmer to have a big day. This will be a high scoring game even with the Ravens defense on the field.

Game Plan
Ravens
Offense: Joe Flacco needs to push the ball up field without turn overs.
Defense: Cover the deep threats and let them make shorter plays.

Bengals
Offense: Throw it deep and do not rely on a rushing game.
Defense: Attack Joe Flacco and make him make errors.

Baltimore 28, Cincinnati 31

Update:

With all the money on the table for this offense, I expect more and so does the rest of America.

Baltimore 10, Cincinnati 15

ARIZONA CARDINALS @ ATLANTA FALCONS
This game is for the birds! The Cardinals are looking like they may have another run at the Superbowl. The Falcons on the other hand need some help. Expect big plays out of Steve Breaston. He is looking like a solid WR and with Fitzgerald injured I would expect Breaston to be holding down the fort.

Game Plan
Cardinals
Offense: Move the ball around. Keep Atlanta guessing.
Defense: Make the Falcons go deep. Matt Ryan has been a great competitor but his greatest challenges have been with the long ball.

Falcons
Offense: Use Tony Gonzalaz for the past few years his job has continued to disappear and he is the best player on the team.
Defense: Go after Derick Anderson. He has always had concerns with blitzes.

Arizona 22, Atlanta 21

Update:

I really expected Arizona to show up this game. It really was a game for the birds. Glad it was blacked out in my neck of the woods.

Arizona 7, Atlanta 41

MIAMI DOLPHINS @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Well, this game will not be pretty. Expect Minnesota to have a huge victory.

Game Plan
Dolphins
Offense: Use your wild cat offense to make the Vikings second guess their assignments.
Deffense: Attack Favre. Make him throw off center and make errors.

Vikings
Offense: Too many weapons. Use them all.
Defense: Spread out and make sure they don't get around the corner.

Minnesota 31, Miami 14

Update:

I will officially eat my words here. Very impressed to say the least at the offensive and defensive force of the Miami Dolphins. Wow. Impressive.

Minnesota 10, Miami 14

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
I feel bad for the 49ers. I wouldn't want to be put into their shoes this week. After an awful loss last week and now this. Expect the Saints to destroy the 49ers. Anyone know a out of work coach...I think there maybe a job opening in San Francisco.

Game Plan
Saints
Offense: Dominate
Defense: Destroy

49ers
Offense: Surrender
Defense: Cry

Update:
I take my hat off to the 49er's play last week. They put up a great effort. Love to see it.

New Orleans 25, San Fransisco 22
