Week 5 Preview

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS @ BUFFALO BILLS
Really? You couldn't pay me to watch this game. I could watch better football at a junior high. Jacksonville had a surprise win last week and I think that trend will continue through this week. The Bills are just plain bad but Jacksonville is not much better.

Jacksonville 20, Buffalo 17

Update:
This game was much more action packed than I expected.
Jacksonville 36, Buffalo 26

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ CINCINNATI BENGALS
Both the Buc's and the Bengals are having ups and downs this year. Palmer has the weapons. Will he ever play to the potential that he once did...doubt it. Palmer has had elbow and knee problems since the days of throwing for 4000+ yards and I believe that those days are long over. Josh Freeman has shown glimpse of great football this year but he is not ready to be leading a team. I would look for Terrel Owens and Cedric Benson to have big games. Oh yeah, Cincinnati's defense has been able to shut down majority of great WR's this season...I would look for Cincinnati defense to prove to be the best this week.

Tampa Bay 14, Cincinnati 22

Update:
Like I have been saying...Carson Palmer needs a QB coach to help him progress into a better QB or they need to get a new QB.
Tampa Bay 24, Cincinnati 21

ATLANTA FALCONS @ CLEVELAND BROWNS
Atlanta will come out on top in this game for sure. Atlanta is a very powerful team if they use their resources. Tony Gonzalas is maybe one of the greatest TE's in the league. He has been used sparingly this year. If Atlanta wants to be that playoff team then they need to incorporate him within the game calling. I would look to Matt Ryan to have a very big game this week. The Browns passing defense is marginal.

Atlanta 30, Cleveland 20

Update:
Cleveland played some pretty good ball this week. It looks like they are coming along.
Atlanta 20, Cleveland 10

ST. LOUIS RAMS @ DETROIT LIONS
Hmm...this is must not see TV. The Lions has been robbed, raped and ruined this season. I am looking for the Lions to pull out a victory at home against the surprising St. Louis Ram. This game may surprise us all. Calvin Johnson and Jahvid Best will have amazing games.

St. Louis 16, Detroit 22

Update:
Wow. St. Louis is the new Jekel and Hide of the NFL. Ya never really know who is going to show up.
St. Louis 6, Detroit 44

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Did you know that K.C. is undefeated? They are the only undefeated team in the NFL. Really? I have actually been amazed at their level of play this year. With all of that being said, the Cheifs are only as strong as their leader. Matt Cassel has been up and down all season. If the Chiefs look to continue on the trend of being a playoff team I would think that they will need to work hard on developing Cassel into the QB that he needs to be. Look for Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones to have another great outing. Payton Manning is sick! His accuracy and durability is truely amazing. At home the Colts are very impressive. I would look to Kansas City to play well but not strong enough against the Colts.

Kansas City 24, Indianapolis 32

Update:
I thought KC would put up some more points. Cassel? That is the question.
Kansas City 9, Indianapolis 19

GREEN BAY PACKERS @ WASHINGTON REDSKINS
This should be a battle through the air rather than a battle on the ground. Green Bays RB is a joke. Clinton Portis is out for Washington. However, Mike Shannahan is a rushing kind of coach and I believe that this game will incorporate alot of rushing. McNabb is solid and if the Redskins used him to his full ability they could see much more plays through the air. I would look to Arron Rodgers to have a solid game.

Green Bay 33, Washington 13

Update:
I would of never of predicted this game. Wow. The Redskins did a great job on defense. Offense seems to sputter. What happened GB?
Green Bay 13, Washington 16

CHICAGO BEARS @ CAROLINA PANTHERS
The Bears lost a tough one last week. I think they will come back with solid play but this game might be difficult. The Panthers have a strong defense. I would look at this to be handled 100% by Cutler. Matt Forte should be an after thought this week. He may be used in the line up for some receptions but not much running.

Chicago 22, Panthers 14

Update:
Chicago is for real.
Chicago 23, Carolina 6

DENVER BRONCOS @ BALTIMORE RAVENS
This could be the game of the week. Both teams are playing good ball. They both have inconsistencies but most importantly they are both very strong on offense. I would look to Joe Flacco to have an average game. He will be plagued by turn overs.

Denver 22, Ravens 24

Update:
Baltimore is my pick for the top seed in the weak AFC.
Denver 17, Baltimore 31

NEW YORK GIANTS @ HOUSTON TEXANS
I don't know why but I am going with the Texans. The Giants have had a lot of ups and downs this year. The Texans defense has been awful against passing attacks. However, they have been fairly decent against good rushers. I would look to Manning to have the game of his life. But I am sticking with my earlier thought that the Texans will pull this out.

New York 33, Houston 34

Update:
Houston didn't show up. They didn't even try.
New York 34, Houston 10

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ ARIZONA CARDINALS
This is a no brainer. The Cardinals need help badly. The Saints well they are the Saints.

New Orleans 24, Arizona 12

Update:
Now this game was great. Wow. To watch the Cards beat the Saints was a classic meeting between these two teams. Cardinals played some good ball on both sides of the field.
New Orleans 20, Cardinals 30

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS @ OAKLAND RAIDERS
Oakland has been awful this year. With great improvements on the team but they just can't get it together. I would look to Phillip Rivers to have a big game and any one who they send out to rush against this team.

San Diego 33, Oakland 12

Update:
Oakland...I do not believe that I will be able to accurately predict a win or a loss from you this season. Please, make this be a sign of life or just drop dead.
San Diego 27, Oakland 35

TENNESSEE TITANS @ DALLAS COWBOYS
Another, should be the game of the week. Vince Young has progressed this season into a very strong leader and a dominate threat. I would look to the Tennessee Titans to take this game. Romo will have a good game 300+ yards.

Tennessee 32, Dallas 28

Update:
Vince Young was confident and in control. Romo...well, your Romo.
Tennessee 34, Dallas 27

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
This will be an ugly game for both teams. Philadelphia with out Vick is nothing impressive and San Francisco is awful with Singletary. I think we all know what needs to happen for both teams. I would look to Alex Smith and Kevin Kolb to have mediocre days.

Philadelphia 20, San Francisco 22

Update:
I really don't know why I picked San Francisco to win. Mike Singletary is the single reason for the L's in San Franciscos W/L column. Alex Smith played great. He fumbled the ball once but overall play was the making of a great QB.
Philadelphia 27, San Francisco 24

MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ NEW YORK JETS
This is the game of the week. Brett Favre, Randy Moss and Adrian Peterson vs. Derrel Revis and Jets Defense. I really don' t know how this game will turn out. Favre has been very inconsistent this year. I think with the addition of Randy Moss this may turn things around.

Minnesota 42, New York 38

The Moss Man Move

Randy Moss has had his ups and downs in the NFL. When he entered the league, he was probably the most talented receiver that ever stepped on the turf. After years in Minnesota, Moss made a fateful move to Oakland where he spent one year. This move dramatically affected his value. Teams watched his performance as a player slip and his attitude was sub par. However, the Patriots who have a keen eye scooped up Moss for a fifth round draft pick and a soda. This may have been the best deal ever crafted. Within a year in the Patriots organization Moss was performing to high levels and making huge plays. Now, Randy Moss is back within the top five receivers within the NFL.

In the NFL rumor mill, Randy Moss is looking to be traded by the Patriots back to his old team the Minnesota Vikings. This is a very slippery slope for Randy Moss. First of all, when Moss left the Vikings there was some bad blood between Moss and the management and Moss and the fans. Secondly, the Vikings performance this year has been less than admirable. Favre is old and he is playing like it. If the Vikings were to replace Favre with one of their back ups, they really don't have any one to replace him. This may make for a disgruntled Moss. A disgruntled Moss is not very good to have on your team. As we saw in Oakland, Moss was a cancer within the locker room. His wouldn't even run full speed on the field. He was a disaster.

However, if Moss is traded and Moss takes the trade in stride. The Vikings have more weapons than the Patriots do. The Vikings have the potential to make a playoff run and potentially become the next Super Bowl Champs. (Yes, I know they lost to the Dolphins.) The greatest weakness that the Vikings have is Favre. I do not believe that Favre is out of gas. I think he is just making his mistakes early on this year. With Moss at the WR1 spot, Favre would have another option to go to. Defenses would be spread too thin to cover all aspects of this team.

If the Patriots trade Moss. It really depends on which Moss comes to the Vikings. If disgruntled Moss shows up it will be disastrous. But if Bad Ass Moss shows up...expect a great ending to a great year in the NFL.

Week 4 Preview

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS @ ATLANTA FALCONS
The 49ers are in trouble, they do not need an intervention, they need an exorcist. The demon that lurks is their head coach and because of which it trickles throughout the entire team. Look for Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White to have huge games.

San Francisco 10, Atlanta 24

Update:
Well, I think my blog about firing Mike Singletary got a fire under his ass. He came out swinging. 14 points in the first quarter. But then, the 49ers ran out of steam.

San Francisco 14, Atlanta 16

NEW YORK JETS @ BUFFALO BILLS
Another no brainer. The Bills are maybe the worst in the NFL. They made a move to remove their most talented QB that the organization has. Well, that wasn't the best of moves. On the upside, the Bills defense has managed to perform well against high ranking receivers. Look to LT to have a big game this weekend.

New York 33, Buffalo 20

Update:
L.T. ran for over 130 yards. I guess all the smack San Diego was talking was just smack talk and not truth.

New York 38, Buffalo 14

CINCINNATI BENGALS @ CLEVELAND BROWNS
The Bengals will attempt to prove that Carson Palmer still has what it takes to be an NFL QB. I think this will blow up in their face. I think Carson Palmer will come out swing attempting big throws and going deep but in return will receive a few interceptions and lose this game. Look for the Bengals rush defense to do well against Peyton Hills.

Cincinnati 10, Cleveland 13

Update:
Say T.O. Well, this was exactly what I expected. Palmer attempting to prove himself. Hey Palmer, "You need to win. That's how you can prove yourself."

Cincinnati 20, Cleveland 23

DETROIT LIONS @ GREEN BAY PACKERS
Green Bay lost to Chicago last week so expect them to play up to their top perfromance of the year. I would look for this game to not only be a one sided game but a complete and total blow out.

Detroit 3, Green Bay 33

Update:
I do not give the Lions enough credit. The Lions are a much better football team than only able to score 3 points. And, each week they go out and get better and better.

Detroit 26, Green Bay 28

DENVER BRONCOS @ TENNESSEE TITANS
I have gone both ways on both of these teams this year and lost every time. Broncos going into Tennessee, I'm going with the home town. The Broncos will be forced to use Tim Tebow because Orton will not perform well. Look for this to be a ground battle because both teams will have difficulty through the air.

Denver 13, Tennessee 20

Update:
I knew this game was going to ruin my fun. Orton threw for 341 yards, a pair of touchdowns and only one interception. Tim Tebow never entered the game. Tennessee lacks ambition and looks to be an 8-8 team.

Denver 26, Tennessee 20

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS @ ST. LOUIS RAMS
After last week, Seattle will go into St. Louis and rape and pillage. I am now officially on the Seahawks bandwagon. This team has the fire power but lacks the strength. Look for the Seahawks to go to their strengths in Justin Fosset and John Clayton.

Seattle 33, St. Louis 22

Update:
I am officially off the Seahawk bandwagon. This team was disgusting. I wanted to cry while watching this game. Sloppy play, bad calls, and well overall just poor play. This team needs an new coach.

Seattle 3, St. Louis 20

CAROLINA PANTHERS @ NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
The Panthers have a major problem at QB, but they have a huge strength at RB. I would look for Carolina to focus on the running game while the Saints will do what they do best.

Carolina 13, New Orleans 35

Update:
This game was much closer than I expected. Why isn't the Saints blowing out their opponents? This team has the talent to do so. Every week we see them just skating by. I think this is all part of their plan.

Carolina 14, New Orleans 16

BALTIMORE RAVENS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS
This is the game of the week. Ravens turned on their offense last week and if they keep the momentum alive, I would look for Balitimore to defeat the Steelers at home. The Ravens are strong offensively and defensively. Pittsburgh still looks good even with Batch at the wheel. This will be a strong match up.

Baltimore 23, Pittsburgh 22

P.S. as a side note, I changed these numbers three times.

Update:
I am still not a big fan of Joe Flacco. This guy does well one week and then the next he does lousy. He is just an average QB with no real shot at ever being the next Joe Montana. However, he still got the job done.

Baltimore 17, Pittsburgh 14

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
No question here. The Colts will dismantle this defense and they will gain another victory. Between Garrard posing to be an NFL quarterback and Jones-Drew playing like a minor leaguer, I would expect that to continue. Look for the Colts offense to all have great games.

Colts 33, Jaguars 16

update:
Well, I would of never saw this coming. The mighty Colts upsetted by the Jags. I see pigs flying by my penthouse window.

Indianapolis 28, Jacksonville 31

HOUSTON TEXANS @ OAKLAND RAIDERS
I'm a little bitter last week after Oakland's loss. I personally, think the Raiders are a better team than the Texans. Oakland needs to watch out for the passing game in order to beat this team. The Texans will have a decent outting. I would look for Gradkowski and Schaub to have a 300+ game, Foster and McFadden will both post large numbers.

Houston 22, Oakland 23

Update:
Wow. Between the Raiders, Denver and Tennessee: I can't get it right. The Raiders are done. Their attempt at having a good season is over.

Houston 31, Oakland 24

ARIZONA CARDINALS @ SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
The Chargers will defeat the Cardinals with ease. I would look for Philip Rivers to throw for over 400 yards. Rivers cries a lot and is a big nuance but he is a good player. The Chargers will attempt to keep the ball in the air while the cardinals will attempt to use their running game to their best ability.

Arizona 20, San Diego 33

Update:
I was quite sure the Chargers would take this game. Just not to this degree.

Arizona 10, San Diego 41

WASHINGTON REDSKINS @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
This should be the game of the week but its not. Vick vs. McNabb at the Eagles. I would look for the Eagles fans to boo a lot. (because they do not like any one or any thing.) I would also look for both Vick and McNabb to have big games. I would look for McNabb to do a little bit more rushing than he has in the past.

Washington 20, Philadelphia 21

Update:
I was completely wrong about this game. Philly fans gave McNabb a standing ovation. Vick got hurt and Kolb replaced him. From their the Eagles flew south for the winter.

Washington 17, Philadelphia 12

CHICAGO BEARS @ NEW YORK GIANTS
Chicago is on a roll. Look for Cutler to play the game of his life 500+ yards. Matt Forte will only have 10 rushes but will get over 100 yards.

Chicago 33, New York 20

Update:
Chicago got rocked. 10 sacks on Cutler. He couldn't do a thing against this defense. He left with a concussion. Forte...who?

Chicago 3, New York 17

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS @ MIAMI DOLPHINS
Another this should be the game of the week. Miami needs this victory and so does the Patriots. So, I am going with the home team again. Not because any team makes a mistake, just because time runs out.

New England 14, Miami 21

Update:
I felt as if this game was going along as planned until the Patriots special teams stole the show.

New England 41, Miami 14
